Medical Services:
SSU Student Health Center (SHC)
The SHC provides quality outpatient medical care for acute and sub-acute illnesses, injuries, and basic mental health concerns for all SSU students. Currently all Student Health Center services (including pharmacy pick up) need an appointment. Telemedicine services are available. Health insurance is not required for SSU students to use the SHC and the SHC does not bill or accept health insurance. Though many of your medical needs can be met by the SHC at little or no cost, we strongly recommend you continue your current health insurance (or get insurance if you don't have it) to help cover services that are beyond the scope or hours of availability of the SHC.

For Fall 2020, SSU students who live outside Sonoma County may be able to receive medical services at other CSU campuses closer to where they live. Please call our Student Health Center so they can help facilitate this arrangement. (707) 664-2921
Support During COVID-19
Health Care-
- If you are eligible for Medi-Cal, you can get coverage to be screened and treated for COVID-19.
- If you are not eligible for Medi-Cal, or you are undocumented, you can go to a health center and access care site with sliding scale fees.
Jewish Community Free Clinic
Drawing on the traditional concepts of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world), the Jewish Community Free Clinic provides free medical care, educational and social services to men, women and children who have no health insurance, without regard to ethnicity, race, or religion. Their volunteer health care providers take a holistic approach, are multilingual, compassionate, non-judgmental and provide quality services in a friendly, accessible environment for the entire family.

Students and staff who neeed assistance with health insurance can call (707) 559-7500 to make an appointment with any Certified Enrollment Counselor at either the Rohnert Park Health Center or the Petaluma Health Center. All counselors are bilingual. They can help with Medi-Cal, Covered California, Path to Health, County Medical Services Program, Medi-Cal Access Program and CalFresh. Due to a new law in California, beginning January 1, 2020 young adults under the age of 26 are eligible for Full Scope Medi-Cal despite their immigration status as long as they meet the income limit.
