"I CAN HELP" is a CSU mental health literacy and suicide-risk reduction program for college and university campuses. It is designed to help prepare students, faculty and staff understand the health and well-being resources that are available and to train them on how to better support distressed students.

A suicide occurs approximately every 17 minutes in the United States and is the second leading cause of death among college students. At least 60 percent of us will personally know someone who dies by suicide. We are working to change these statistics.

The "I CAN HELP" workshop offers tools and practice for multiple realistic interactions with students. You will learn to recognize distress, determine who might need a referral and work with and support a student or colleague.

Please contact the Counseling and Psychological Services office at (707) 664-2153 for the current workshop schedule.
