New Care Team Coordinator

Calee Spinney, Care Team Coordinator
I'm pleased to announce that Calee Spinney has been reassigned into the Care Team Coordinator role within the Office of the Dean of Students, starting July 1, 2021.

Calee was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but did most of her growing up in New Hampshire.  Prior to moving to the Bay Area in 2008, Calee also lived in Bloomington, Indiana and Perth, Australia.  She received her BA in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Forensic Sexology from the Curtin University of Technology, and an MA in Educational Administration and Leadership with an Emphasis in Student Affairs from the University of the Pacific.

Calee built her professional home in student affairs within the realm of residential life.  She began as an RA at the University of New Hampshire and returned to the field in 2013 when she began her degree at the University of the Pacific.  She oversaw a building of 250 first-year students and a staff of 11 as a graduate student before joining the CSU system at the California Maritime Academy as a Residential Life Coordinator, where she helped oversee housing operations on the Training Ship Golden Bear.  Calee came to Sonoma State as an Area Coordinator in 2017 and has been with the department through a series of challenges including consolidating with the housing operations team, wildfires, campus closures, COVID-19, and staffing reductions.

During her free time, Calee enjoys running, reading, listening to podcasts, and frightening her cat with her singing and dance moves.

Additionally, Reed Mathieson, who's been temporarily reassigned to the Care Team Coordinator for the past year, will be returning back to his role within Campus Recreation on July 1, 2021.
