Program Outcomes

  1. Ensure that all student staff members in the Division of Student Affairs are equipped to serve as resources to constituents and ambassadors of the University.

  2. Advance that all student staff members see themselves as part of the Division of Student Affairs.

  3. Provide an opportunity for student staff to meet student staff members working in other parts of the Division.

 

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending the student staff training, students will

  1. Have a basic understanding of the organizational infrastructure of Sonoma State  and the Division of Student Affairs

  2. Be able to articulate key responsibilities of their role on campus as representatives for the University and the Division of Student Affairs:

    1. Be an ambassador for Sonoma State; 

    2. Be knowledgeable about resources available on campus; 

    3. Be willing to help constituents find what they need, even if you don’t know all the answers; 

    4. Go the extra mile -- walk people where they need to go, introduce people personally, follow through and follow up

New student staff are required to view the video and complete the questionnaire at the end. Once completed, they should let their supervisor know so they can verify their attendance with the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Supervisors should email affairss@sonoma.edu with a list of students who have completed the training for verification. Please provide their names and student ID numbers.
